突出优点：
将两个相同的长方形分别按长、宽两个轴向卷起，形成两个轴向的圆柱，放在同一界面相互对照，对于学生形成良好的空间感，准确建立相对应的对象间的度量值关系，很有帮助，效果好；第二页的设计承接第一页思路，探究同一个长方形用两种方案所得体积大小，从中总结规律，隐含了“最优化”问题，非常好。

如果再加一备用页，演示说明长方形分别沿两个轴向卷成的长方体，甚至包括卷成正n棱柱的体积情形，那就更妙了！这种“最优化”思想和“极限”思想，如果没有技术和创意支持时，显然是大大超标了，谁也不敢触碰。当我们能做如上设计时，多数孩子去观察、感受一下，尝试猜测一下，甚至验证一下，就不是什么很困难的事了。

第6、7页前移，先通过高尔顿板实验演示，以及日常生活中所遇到的随机现象，结合频率分布图引出正态分布概念，便于学习者理解，并且对频率直方图与正态曲线图之间的关系掌握得自然而通透；如果直接先定义正态分布，会显得突兀难懂。
